I have a degree in Social Communication with a major in Journalism and a degree in English. I worked as a journalist in the press office of the city hall in my hometown of Maceió, in northeast Brazil. I wrote articles for the municipality's official gazette, laid out newsletters and covered events and meetings photographically. In 2010, I took a course in English Language Teaching and Learning offered by the Faculty of Letters of the Federal University of Alagoas and took my first step towards teaching English to a wide range of audiences, from children to adults. I currently have 10 years' experience in the classroom, certification in English level C1 (advanced) and in English Language Teaching for Foreign Speakers (CELTA), both issued by the University of Cambridge.

I have always tried to combine English language teaching with the most diverse visual resources possible, as I consider myself a visual learner and have always considered the use of resources such as slideshows, videos, images and illustrations to be important allies in my teaching practice.
